Western Coalition Aimed to Give Terrorists Break by Striking Syria : Moscow

The Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday that the real aim of the recent missile launches by the US, the UK and France was to give terrorists a break.

"We've found confirmations that the real aim of 'the three' was to give terrorists a break, restore their strength, prolong the bloodshed on the Syrian soil, thus impeding the process of the political settlement," the ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

According to the spokeswoman, the Syrian forces have found containers with chlorine and smoke bombs, produced in Germany and the UK.

"In the liberated territories of Eastern Ghouta, the Syrian government troops have found containers with chlorine — the most terrible type of chemical weapons — from Germany, as well as smoke bombs produced — attention! — in [UK town of] Salisbury," Zakharova said at a weekly news briefing.

"It is difficult to even comment on this fact in any way, as it is so frightening and undermining the belief in the humanity of certain countries," Zakharova added.

Speaking further, Zakharova noted that Russia has information that al-Nusra* militants, supported by the US, was creating an autonomy in southern Syria.
