The Nice-Cote d'Azur triathlon scheduled for October 1 and 2 has been cancelled amid security concerns, the French Triathlon Federation announced on Tuesday.
Security required for the event which would bring together 1,200 people would require "too great a commitment of public order forces already mobilised otherwise", the federation said in a statement.
After the Bastille Day truck attack in the Riviera resort in July that claimed 85 lives, a number of events have been cancelled, including the European road cycling championships from September 14-18.
