Police receive dozens of new sexual assault complaints in Germany

As the number of complaints of sexual assault on New Year's Eve in Cologne rises, dozens of similar reports are emerging in other German cities. In Hamburg, 39 cases of sexual harassment have been reported - all committed by Arabic speaking men, the police said.

An additional 14 cases of robbery were reported. All complaints were made by young women, aged 18 to 25, largely in the last 24 hours. The Hamburg police announced it has formed a special team to investigate the incidents, most of which occurred in the Reeperbahn, the Northern city's famous night spot.

Also in Frankfurt, reports of Cologne-like attacks are starting to mount. In one case, described by the German Spiegel Online, ten men surrounded three women and touched them in an offensive manner. 

The victims told the police on Tuesday that the men were of North African appearance and spoke bad English with an Arabic accent...
